Physician’s Formula 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner & Serum ~ Review

I am ALWAYS on the prowl for eye makeup that will LAST on my eyes.  I will admit that my eyes are not sensitive and have endured a lot of tugging and pulling and rubbing… BEFORE I learned all of the above will give me wrinkles.

And yes, I’ve now got the wrinkles to prove it.

In truth, my real issue is that I have (gasp)Oily Eyelids.  OH, the HORROR.  My eye makeup – shadow, liner, mascara – all look great when I leave my house everyday (ok, I’m biased.  “Great” is a relative term.)  But within three hours, my shadow fades, my mascara makes me look like a coon, and my liner is literally running off my eyes in search of a better home.

I have found some AMAZING products for primer and mascara that but the kibosh on the aforementioned issues.  You can find them here.

However, the liner and I have been at odds for going on years now.

Sure, I LOVED the MAC Liquidlast liner… but it gets so thick and difficult after a short while and let’s be honest, I’m not made of money.  BUT, it was the ONLY stuff that stayed on my eyelids (and waterline).

Until I found this little baby and tried it out on a whim simply because I got it for FREE at CVS (after coupons, Extra Care Bucks, etc).

L’oreal Collection Privee ~ Doutzen Nude (Review)

Well, I for one had no idea this collection existed.  Apparently, the end of the school year sucked me into a black hole of paperwork and IEPs that left no room for new makeup, or even rumors of new pretties!

Wandering through Ulta aimlessly on Mother’s Day (since my momma lives 18 hours away — but I was on the phone with her), I found this BEAUTIFUL L’oreal nude pink and I fell in love.

The collection itself has 6 nude shades of varying tones, each endorsed by a beautiful female celebrity.  Obviously, the shade I chose – “Doutzen Nude” – is endorsed by Dutch model/actress/Victoria’s Secret Angel, Doutzen Kroes.

I’ve worn it everyday since I’ve bought it so I thought I’d do a little review!
(Humor me, this is my first post like this.)

Summer Makeup Must-Haves! (oily/combination skin)

We skipped Spring here all together and are plunging head-long into SUMMER.
It was 90… NINE.TY… degrees here this past week!

The change of seasons means my makeup routine needs an entire overhaul to combat the sun, sweat, and tan-to-come!
((( So can’t wait for that last part! )))

Being out in the sun/heat whether it’s at the pool, the ball park, or just hanging out at the park with friends, I am NOT a fan of a high maintenance look.  When you step outside and get that “melted” look…

Girl.  Not cute.

Here’s what I stick with to keep my makeup functional, simple, and protective.
Don’t you dare skip that SPF, girl!

April Favorites!!

Holy cow, can we please talk about how fast 2014 is going?!? I cannot believe it is May already and almost half way to 2015. Time flies when you’re….bust with life!

Anyways…April was a pretty good month for me, not gonna lie. My skin has finally settled down, I’ve found some great products that are really helping me in my day to day routine, I got a promotion and a raise at work!! I also started the Tone It Up Bikini Series, which kicked off on April 28 (see my blog post and follow my journey on Instagram!).

I already have some favorites in mind for May, but first my April favorites!

Blush Bonanza!

Let’s be honest

I’ve managed to keep my makeup obsession under control in merely one area:  BLUSH.

This is probably only due to the fact I can never find a shade I love while avoiding looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.  True story.

These five little babies have quickly become my favorites in various shades of pink and coral; matte and shimmer.  Amazingly enough, all of these are DRUGSTORE finds!  (Please join me while I shout hallelujah that CVS now carries NYX!  #amazing)

Side note:  if you haven’t joined the CVS reward club, you have NO idea what you are missing out on!  Free makeup almost every trip, not even kidding.

First Impression: Almay Shadow Softies

imageHey everyone! I was super excited last week when I went to City Target in downtown San Fran and found these cute little eye shadows on clearance from Almay! If you know me, you know I LOVE a good deal. And seriously, you can’t go wrong with $3.74 for 2 shadows that usually run $4.99 EACH.

Here’s my take on these eye shadows – as always this is just my opinion 🙂 If you want to try them for yourself, they are available in stores and online at Ulta. Enjoy!

March (Madness) Favorites

Oh March Madness!  How your name suits you… Thanks alot Duke & KU!  #bitterbydefault

All basketball disappointments aside– I will admit I have a little madness of mine own, though, don’t we all?!  And I’ve come to the realization that you just gotta OWN THAT ISH, my friend!  It’s part of your passion, your quirks, it’s all a part of who-you-are, what makes you so incredibly unique and valuable and imperfectly perfect!

My madness just happens to be super girly and not always very cost effective in my life.

Yeah, yeah, banking institution, you can stop sending me fraud alerts every week — I really am shopping THAT much.

But once in a while, after countless (read: thousand$) of dollars, you find your Holy Grails!  And since we’re so blessed to live in a day and age of convenience, we have Luvocracy to track all our “luvs” and make it simple (and at times, cheaper) to have a one-stop-shop right in your own living room!

Luvocracy is simply Pinterest with the ability to shop/buy directly from your “luvs” without ever having to track anything down, do any comparison shopping (hey, I’m a little cheap like that — don’t judge me), and really have it all (and delivered!) straight to the door of your adorable humble abode.  And if the order is messed up, well, #firstworldproblems.
